At Ikea (pronounced "eek-ay-yah" here) in Funabashi today, my friend Brenda's Toyota Zio was the only car in the ENTIRE PARKING GARAGE (at least level P1 where we were) that was parked front end first. Apparently the thing to do is to back in, whatever size vehicle you drive. Is this part of the social contract, like standing left on an escalator? Is it a safety rule set by Ikea? the Diet?
We wondered: How're shoppers then supposed to load their trunks with all those plastic utensils and throw pillows and extension cords and cork trivets and storage boxes and bags of frozen meatballs they just bought? Oh, right -- pull out and pull around to the loading area.
