The extortionists at National Azabu Supermarket were offering this gourmet brownie mix "on special" the other day for 1,180 yen, or about $14.50 for a 640-gram box. According to the sign, this crazy store -- a sort of expat Twilight Zone unto itself -- would normally charge 1,575 yen, or about $19.50 per box. Yikes. I've never had Fat Witch Bakery anything. Is it worth it? On second thought, don't answer that. I already know Total Greek yogurt is super yummy, but at almost $8 for a half cup I have learned to live without it.
