Nissin

There's a big gold-plated sign inside this store that reads, "Everything is for the Contentment of Our Customers" and "Patronized by the Imperial Household." There's also a poster-size photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger browsing the wine section. It's a great big store in a neighborhood called Azabu Juban (say that 10 times fast) that caters to foreigners while not being so crazy-expensive as the National Azabu Supermarket. I bought a big houseplant here and they delivered it the same day for free. They also have everything you need for Easter: plastic eggs to fill with candy, fuzzy wind-up bunnies that hop, egg-decorating kits, baskets, fake grass... and People magazine, which I resisted. I wonder how much they paid Nicole Richie for those baby pics.
