I've seen workmen trimming the thin branches off some of the bare trees in the neighborhood and I'm wondering why they do it. For the aesthetics? the tree's health? to get more sun? I will find out. In the meantime, check out this sky! Bad weather doesn't seem to last long here. Sunday was gray and slushy but now we're back to clear skies and sunny. I like this yellow house that's right across the street from us.

I think they are just pruning it so it grows nice in the spring when the flowers and fruit(?) grow on the branches. It looks better and is more efficient than having a bunch of scraggly branches.
